Sim-u-sell Academic Publishing, LLC (“Sim-u-sell”, “we”, “us”) operates the Sim-u-sell sales management simulation platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use our services.
Information We Collect
- When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and university affiliation.
- When students pay for simulation access, payment is processed by Stripe. Sim-u-sell does not store full credit card numbers — Stripe handles all payment data under PCI-DSS compliance.
- We collect usage data including simulation decisions submitted, report views, and login activity to operate the platform and support instructors.
- We may collect device and browser information for security, bug reporting, and performance monitoring purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate and improve the Sim-u-sell platform, including processing simulation decisions and generating reports.
- To communicate with you about your account, simulation status, and platform updates.
- To enable instructors to manage their simulations and view student performance data.
- To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data Sharing
- Your simulation performance data is shared with the instructor running your simulation. Instructors can view all team submissions and reports.
- We use trusted third-party service providers (including Stripe for payments and Supabase for database hosting) who process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements.
- We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Sim-u-sell, our users, or the public.
Data Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plaintext.
- We use Supabase with row-level security policies to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to view.
- While we implement reasonable security measures, no system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password and report any suspected unauthorized access to support@simusell.com.
Data Retention
- Account and simulation data is retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@simusell.com. Note that instructors may retain access to aggregated simulation results even after individual student accounts are deleted.
Cookies
- Sim-u-sell uses session cookies and local storage to keep you logged in and maintain your session state. These are essential for the platform to function.
- We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Children's Privacy
- Sim-u-sell is designed for use in collegiate and university-level courses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact support@simusell.com.
Changes to This Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a notice within the platform. Your continued use of Sim-u-sell after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
